At Prisca's Fabulous Fresh Fish, our story is one of passion, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to quality. It all began in the bustling city of Brazzaville, Republic of Congo where Prisca and Billy met for the first time in Fall of 2019.
Prisca and Billy began as friends and began talking business very quickly as both were entrepreneurs. The connection transitioned quickly into a more romantic situation.
By Spring of 2020 wedding plans had already been made, and the couple married in Brazzaville. They would spend another 15 months in Congo through the COVID-19 pandemic waiting for their family visas to be processed so they could return together to the United States with their daughter Chloe.
One of things Prisca remarked upon arrival in our small town in Northern Wisconsin was the unavailabilty of fresh whole fish at local markets. Prisca missed the delicious fresh fish from her homeland and did not like her fish in fillet form.
This led to her husband scouring the area for a source for fresh whole fish. Considering that we live only 80 miles from the Lake Superior shore, he didn't need to travel too far to find a fish market in the Eastern UP that was selling several local species in whole or fillet form.
Prisca was having a difficult time finding work as a newcomer to the USA who barely spoke English. Her husband saw an opportunity with the fish and together they started Prisca's Fabulous Fresh Fish as a company that she could call her own.
As time went by, the farmer's market and tent sales would transition to more wholesale customers, and in 2025 the business exploded when they began getting large bulk orders from fish processors.
The business model transitioned to largely bulk and wholesale fresh and smoked fish. These days, we sell mostly by the ton to fish processors and our restaurant and retail sales have taken second and third place.
Now, whether you want a fish or a truckload of fish, Prisca's Fabulous Fresh Fish has you covered with the finest quality Lake Superior fish!
